an on-going list of incidents involving guns. Click on the

We know that our information
is incomplete. The number of incidents in our lists is between 10
and 15 percent of the total number of firearms offences recorded in Home
Office and Scottish Government figures, though we believe nearly all of
the most serious crimes are being included. Your help in collecting more

Catherine
Hodges has been jailed for at least 24 years after murdering her partner
in Stratton Strawless, near Norfolk. She drove five miles from
her home and shot him several times with a rifle in June (See
June Incidents: BBC News, 13 June
2011).

A
20-year-old man was shot and killed in Croydon, south London. The
victim was found with a bullet wound to his head, and he died after
being taken to hospital. Police immediately identified a suspect and
made an arrest soon after (BBC

A coroner
has called for a review of the firearm license application process in
the wake of the suicide of a man in Dersingham, Norfolk. The man,
who held a shotgun license despite
being diagnosed with anxiety and depression. He was found dead at his
home on April 29, the day of the Royal Wedding.

A man shot
and killed himself in Pattishall, Northamptonshire. He had been
undergoing treatment for a terminal brain tumour. He reportedly shot
himself with a shotgun he owned for
the purpose of keeping rabbits away from his garden.

Ithai
McPhee, 21, and Shervin Irvani, 20, of Hertfordshire were jailed
for life after being found guilty of the murder of 17-year-old Marvin
Henry in Mill Hill, north London in October 2010. Another four young men
aged 19 to 21 were also jailed for a dozen years after being convicted
of false imprisonment and grievous bodily harm. Henry was shot in the
chest and pronounced dead upon his arrival at Barnet General Hospital
last year.

In an
incident that apparently sparked much of the mayhem that took place
throughout London in early August, police shot and killed suspected drug
dealer Mark Duggan in Tottenham, north London. Duggan died from a
single bullet and reportedly did not fire at police first from the
handgun he was in possession of.

Amidst the
rioting in London, a man was shot and killed in Croydon, south
London. He was reportedly discovered in his car with gunshot wounds and
died in hospital.

20-year-old man was shot and killed in West Norwood, south
London. The victim was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds but died
within an hour. Police initially arrested three people on suspicion of
their involvement.

A man was
hospitalised with gun injuries in Leeds amidst a crowd of 100.
Police said they initially arrested five people in connection with the
incident and released all on bail. A 13-year-old was also hospitalised
in the incident after being bitten by a police dog.

15-year-old girl was shot in the eye by an
airgun in Bury. She was taken to hospital where it was
confirmed she has lost sight in her eye. A 17-year-old boy has been
arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A report
has found failings in the medical care of an ex-soldier who shot four
members of his family in 2006. David Bradley, who killed his aunt, uncle
and their two sons in Newcastle, was jailed for at least 15 years
for manslaughter following the incident. He had smuggled a handgun into
the UK while serving in the British Army and used it to kill the four
people he shared a house with after 'flipping out' at their home. A
report into his care found several failures to identify vulnerabilities
about his mental health.

Graham
Lane, 65, was found guilty of possessing an illegal semi-automatic
firearm in Worcester. The gun enthusiast, former chairman of the
Norton Shooting Club, had more than 30 firearms removed from his house
by police in September 2010 -- including guns, shells, rocket launchers,
grenades and ammunition. He apparently had licenses for most of the
weapons, but was illegally holding the semi-automatic weapon as well as
live ammunition.

Darren
Williams killed himself in Newport after apparently shooting his
estranged wife and two others who were struck by rebounding shots.
Williams, who used a double-barreled shotgun
in the attacks, was also arrested in 2004 after being found in
possession of a stun gun, a pistol,
a machete, a hunting knife, CS gas and ammunition. His teenage son then
apparently killed himself by hanging himself in September (South
Wales Argus, 29 September 2011).
