are sentences and convictions for court rulings, and the verdicts of
inquests, made this month.
We know that our information
is incomplete. The number of incidents in our lists is between 10
and 15 percent of the total number of firearms offences recorded in Home
Office and Scottish Government figures, though we believe nearly all of
the most serious crimes are being included. Your help in collecting more

businessman has been jailed for eight years after a loaded semi-automatic pistol, two bags of
ammunition, knives, machetes and knuckle dusters were found at his home during an
investigation into suspected loan-shark activities at the property in Great
Sankey, Cheshire. He claimed that a plumber had left the firearm and ammunition
at the house during a job to fix a leak and the workman had attempted to
corroborate this story, but he was nonetheless found guilty.

Mahmood has been given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay £1200
after pleading guilty to having a dangerous article at Leeds Bradford
Airport in Yeadon, West Yorkshire. An
air pistol was found in his checked luggage as it was being
loaded onto a flight and Mahmood was arrested. He claimed the gun was
intended for shooting pigeons in Pakistan, where it is not possible to

brothers have been found guilty of the theft of £3,500 worth of replica
army gear from a specialist business in Bilston, West Midlands.
Gavin and Lee Cotterill were jailed for 19 and 11 months respectively,
and Lee Cotterill was given nine months in a young offenders'
institution. The trio were initially found in possession of a
BB gun, a stab vest and radios when
officers stopped their car, from which an
imitation gun and ammunition were later recovered. The
remaining stolen items - including 57 replica
shotguns and rifles, ammunition, 17
protective vests and two camouflage shirts - were subsequently
discovered during searches of their homes.
