Alexander Mullings, 23, and Emily Ciantar, 20, have been found guilty of conspiring to possess firearms with intent to endanger life and Spencer Inglis, 24, has been found guilty of possessing a prohibited weapon in Mitcham, south London. Mullings arranged for several reactivated sub-machine guns to be imported from Germany by mobile phone while he was in prison in the capital for a series of robberies. Police recovered three of the semi-automatic weapons after Cianter delivered one of them and 74 rounds of ammunition to Inglis at his home, which officers had been watching. Two others were intercepted in the post but at least five more were reported to have been successfully imported before this.

A woman was shot in the back with an airgun while walking past a wooded area in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. The pellet lodged under her shoulder and caused her to bleed, leaving her needing surgery to remove the metal projectile. The victim has been left shaken and afraid to walk in the area.

Firearms officers were deployed after police received a report of a man walking through a garden with a gun in Bridlington, East Yorkshire. Police searched the area but did not locate the man.

Kai Antill has been jailed for one year and eight months after he was arrested by police who used a stun gun to detain him when he refused to stop while transporting drugs through Derby whilst uninsured to drive. As he sought to escape after being flagged down by police who had received a tip-off, officers surrounded his vehicle, opened his door, smashed his window with a baton and subdued him by discharging the taser. Police recovered 20 individual portions of heroin and crack cocaine from the vehicle.

Andrew McIntyre has been jailed for two years and six months after shooting a woman with an airgun on the night of the national independence referendum in her flat in Glenrothes, Fife. He fired the air weapon several times into the victim's flat after she played Scottish music in the property which could be heard in the street. The pellets struck the woman on her arm, causing it to swell, and damaged her television. McIntyre was on bail from prison at the time of the attack, and also pleaded guilty to police assault and a series of road traffic offences with which he had previously been charged.

A 19-year-old male was attacked by three assailants during the robbery of his home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear. The attackers broke into the property brandishing a gun and a baseball bat and attacked the victim, leaving him with a head laceration for which he needed treatment in hospital. The trio escaped with electrical items.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was injured when a shotgun was fired near his home in Accrington, Lancashire. He was taken to hospital with serious head injuries where he was said to be in stable condition.

A group of men are believed to have carried out a series of three robberies of homes in Leeds and Bradford, West Yorkshire. Five men armed with weapons including knives and a sawn-off shotgun broke into a property and threatened a 56-year-old man, escaping with jewellery. Four men forced entry into another home, which they searched for a particular named individual before escaping with an expensive watch. Four armed men also threatened the occupants of another house and stole money and jewellery before escaping in a vehicle.

Three men have been arrested after a robbery and an attempted robbery in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. In the first incident a man with a gun assaulted a customer in an off-licence in the town, but was restrained before escaping on foot empty handed. Another man reported having his mobile phone stolen by a man with what looked like a handgun on the same evening. Police arrested the trio from an address in the town.
