An allotment holder found a number of guns hidden behind a shed at a plot in Newbottle, Tyne and Wear. Police were sent to the scene and removed the weapons for forensic testing.

A 47-year-old female employee was assaulted during an armed robbery of a supermarket in Kilwinning, Ayrshire and Arran. Two men armed with a gun and a knife demanded cash from three female workers and hit one of them in the head before escaping without taking anything.

A swan has been shot dead with a rifle at a pond in Forest Town, Nottinghamshire. Witnesses reported hearing a shot and seeing a man with a gun bag leaving the area. The body of the dead bird was found by an RSPCA inspector who attended the scene.

Kelvin Johns has been handed a 21-month suspended sentence after pleading guilty to possessing a disguised Taser gun and possessing and producing cannabis at his home in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. He was considered to have exceptional circumstances and be able to avoid the five year minimum sentence for stun gun possession because of chronic back pain and disability for which he was self-medicating with marijuana, and the fact the taser had been given to him and was unused.

John James Hamilton has been jailed for five years for using a gun to threaten workers at a bookmakers in Glasgow. He pointed the firearm at the victims and demanded money, before fleeing with £355 in cash. He was arrested using images captured on CCTV in the premises.

Officers were despatched after police received reports of a gun near a fast food restaurant in Redditch, Worcestershire. Two 17-year-olds were arrested soon after the incident and police later recovered a BB gun from the area. One of the teenagers was charged with possessing the imitation weapon with intent to cause fear of violence and assaulting a police officer, while the other was charged with perverting the course of justice.

A group of people were chased across a car park by a man carrying what appeared to be a gun in the centre of Birmingham, West Midlands. Two women and a man were arrested but released on bail and police have begun a search for two others believed to have information vital to the investigation.

A man armed with a gun has allegedly robbed an off-licence in Wallasey, Merseyside. He reportedly brandished a gun and forced workers to hand over cash from the till before fleeing on foot. The victims were left shaken but unhurt.

A man has been arrested after he used an imitation firearm to rob a jewellers in Sevenoaks, Kent. He was chased and detained at a nearby playing field by members of the public until police arrived at the scene. The imitation gun and £20,000 worth of jewellery were recovered and the 34-year-old was arrested.

A gun has allegedly been fired between two cars travelling on a roundabout in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Police searched the area after the late-night incident but have not confirmed whether a gun was discharged.
