A man and his 58-year-old female partner have been found shot dead at their home in Devizes, Wiltshire. Neighbours reported hearing an argument and two loud bangs, and the male victim was reported to have been experiencing emotional and mental difficulties in recent weeks. Police recovered a shotgun that had been discharged twice from the property.

A 42-year-old man was tasered by police after pointing a knife at his own neck outside Downing Street in central London. Officers approached the 41-year-old after he was seen shouting and holding a knife, but he did not respond and police used a taser to disarm him. He hit his head when he fell and was taken to hospital with minor injuries before his arrest.

A 19-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage, possessing an air rifle and driving a vehicle while in a dangerous condition in Berkshire. He is believed to have broken the window of a vehicle using the air rifle and also to have been involved in an incident at a garage in the county.

Two men have assaulted an employee during an armed robbery at a newsagents in Clarkston, Renfrewshire. The pair demanded cash and hit the 18-year-old shop worker in the head with a gun. They escaped on foot with cigarettes and a small amount of money and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of minor head injuries.

A man has been shot in the arm and stomach outside a property in York. Firearms officers attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital. His wounds were not life-threatening and he was released after treatment. Police said the shooting was likely to have been an isolated incident.
