Airgun crime in Staffordshire increased by 25% in 2014-15, according to a report published in the Express and Star as a result of figures released in a Freedom of Information request. Air pistols, ball bearing and pellet guns featured in 184 crimes reported to the police in Staffordshire over the past three years. The majority of incidents involved minor injuries, many involved 'threat', and four related to 'serious' harm - including the blinding in one eye of Cannock police officer Jon King.
