A 16-year-old apparently assaulted police officers in Cumbria while high on drugs. Two officers reportedly sustained an attack from the teen which included being scratched, kicked and punched. They then shot the teenager in the testicles with a stun gun in order to subdue him. The teenager was hospitalised and a metal bar -- part of a the taser -- was removed from his groin.

A bus driver was threatened at gunpoint and punched in the face in Northampton. The robber took money off the driver after assaulting him and then escaped.

Three men armed with a knife and a gun robbed a shop in Prenton, Merseyside. The men threatened staff and escaped with cash and cigarettes. However, police officers nearby arrested three suspects and charged them with the offence, also recovering a gun, knife and the stolen items.

A man robbed a taxi driver at gunpoint in Larkfield, Kent. The man reportedly threatened the driver with a firearm and escaped with cash.

A man was reportedly robbed at gunpoint in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The victim told police a man threatened him with a gun as he was closing his restaurant and stole his phone and bag.

Two men robbed a taxi firm worker at gunpoint in Sonning, Berkshire. The men reportedly threatened the staff member with what was believed to be a firearm and then tied him up before searching the building and escaping.

Police recovered firearm ammunition and drugs during a raid in Swindon, Wiltshire. A team of 30 officers reportedly carried out the raid, arresting a man and charging him with possession of ammunition without a certificate as well as possession of drugs.

A man was shot in the leg in Southampton in a supermarket. The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for the wound. Police arrested a suspect and charged him with causing grievous bodily harm with intent as well as possession of a firearm. Police said they were searching for a handgun used in the incident after they initially arrested three people on suspicion of their involvement (BBC News, 21 February 2012).

Two men were shot in Toxteth, Liverpool in a reported shotgun attack. Both were hospitalised but the wounds are not reported to be life-threatening.

A drive-by shooting took place at a primary school in Kirkby, Merseyside as the pupils were set to go home. Four people on two motorbikes rode past the school at 3 p.m. and opened fire toward a car. No one was hit by the gunfire.
