A man robbed a chemist in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire. He reportedly entered the store by forcing entry with an axe, then threatened to shoot officers and himself. Although he told officers he had a gun, no firearms were reported recovered. The man was arrested after a two-hour standoff.

A man reportedly held up a housing office in South Tyneside. Staff told police a gunman had demanded cash, but had left empty-handed. A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

A man in Nottingham was arrested after police apparently recovered a loaded gun and the ingredients for a bomb at a flat. The man was charged with two counts of possessing an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose and two counts of possessing an air weapon contrary to restrictions placed on him, as well as possession of a firearm and prohibited ammunition.

Three men disguised as police officers robbed a bank in Glasgow. They reportedly threatened a security guard with what appeared to be a gun before escaping with cash by car.

Three men between 18 and 23 years old were arrested in Cardiff following an incident involving a hand gun. Police said 'a number' of imitation firearms were recovered.

Someone apparently used an air gun to shoot 10 cars in Port Talbot. The shooting several windows and caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Seven people were arrested in a large-scale police operation in Swansea. Officers executed search warrants for 19 addresses and charged several people with drugs offences. They also recovered a replica firearm and charged one person with possession of a firearm.

Gun shots were fired on a residential street in Walthamstow, east London. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered damage to a wall they believe was caused by gunfire. Police said there were no injuries reported from the incident and they did not make any arrests.

A 14-year-old boy was forced to the ground at gunpoint by officers in Wolverhampton. The boy's mother went to the press after he was apparently terrified by the ordeal, in which police were searching for men in their 30s. The officers were searching for a trio who robbed a house while armed with two guns earlier in the month.

A swan was shot in the neck with an air rifle in Merseyside. Animal rescue teams reportedly spent several days attempting to rescue the bird, eventually conducting an operation to remove the air pellet from its neck. The animal was released back to its home lake, where it is one of only two swans -- the pair, nicknamed Bill and Maj, have been there for 20 years.
