East London and West Essex Guardian, 28 June 2008 A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer, grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm after he fired at the officer in Debden, Essex. He was arrested in Hornchurch, Essex, after police used a stun gun following a high-speed chase in which two police patrol cars crashed. The man has appeared in court and remanded in custody (BBC, 1 July 2008).
