Weston, Worle & Somerset Mercury

Four people have been found guilty for their part in an armed robbery in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, in March 2011 and the kidnap of a man from his home in Benwell in July 2011.  During the Weston incident one man was armed with a shotgun.  Alex Fillingham, Leon Duncan and Jamie Veira were all found guilty of conspiracy to rob and possession of a firearm with intent.  Marissa Campbell was found guilty of false imprisonment.  Jack Jones, Wesley White and Ashley Pritchard had already pleaded guilty in relation to the case.  See also February 2011 Incidents.

A man has been cleared of attempting to rob two teenagers in Paddock, West Yorkshire, in July 2010.  A man was alleged to have produced what looked like a handgun from his pocket during the incident.  He was also cleared of an allegation of possessing an imitation firearm with intent.  He claimed he had only been involved in a bit of a struggle with the men.
