A man wielding a handgun robbed a bookmaker’s in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.  Employees handed over a large amount of cash after he assaulted one of them.  A man has pleaded guilty to this and three other robberies or attempted robberies.  He was armed with an imitation firearm (see March 2011 Incidents).

Police were investigating after reports of a shot being fired at a house in Walsall, West Midlands.  One man was found with injuries, not from a gun.  A man and a teenage woman have been arrested.

Security guards filling a cash machine at a store in Nottingham were threatened by two men, one of whom was brandishing a firearm.

Jason Elliott sparked an armed police operation in Orby, Lincolnshire, in September 2010 when he produced a replica musket in front of his former girlfriend.  She feared the gun was real and contacted the police.  Elliott had been drinking heavily at the time.  He admitted common assault by putting her in fear and was placed under 18 months' probation supervision and ordered to carry out 80 hours' community punishment.

Three men have been charged with possession of firearms after being arrested in Bermondsey, south London.  All three have been remanded in custody.

Raiders armed with a shotgun and a knife broke into a house in Alphington, Devon, and kept the occupants in the kitchen while they searched the house.  They made off with valuable jewellery and a safe.

Leanne Polwarth and Scott Kelly have been jailed for threatening a man with an air pistol.  They believed the victim was responsible for a break-in at their Newcastle home and threatened him after he was released without charge.  They both admitted affray and were jailed for 18 months.

Adam Clements was on a community order when he opened fire with a starting pistol during a confrontation with a gang outside his house in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.  He admitted possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.  He was jailed for 16 months.

Two men, one thought to be carrying a firearm, threatened staff at a store in Otford, Kent, punched one of them in the face and demanded money.  They took cash from the till before fleeing.
