Darren Blagrove from Bristol has been jailed for five years for possessing a sawn-off shotgun. The weapon was found in a communal shed. He had a previous conviction for manslaughter.

A man told police he had been shot in the face and body with a pellet gun during an incident in Blackpool, Lancashire. Police in riot gear surrounded flats after a man was heard shouting that a gunman was in the building. His injuries were consistent with a pellet gun.

Paul Renshaw has pleaded guilty to brandishing an air rifle in a store in Alness, Ross-shire, in July 2010 alarming customers and staff as well as causing fear and alarm to other, and breaking of the peace. He also pleaded guilty to assaulting a man. He had been drinking when he and two friends walked to the shop where he brandished his air rifle. He was later seen bare-chested in the streets still carrying the rifle. He has been jailed for 22 months.

Jason Barnett has been jailed for seven and a half years after pleading guilty to drugs and weapons charges. He was arrested after a gun and chemicals used in cocaine production were found in his van after police were called to a domestic incident at his house in Avonmouth, Bristol. A pump action rifle was found in a hidden compartment.

A boy of 12 was injured when he was shot in the arm with an air rifle fired from a block of flats in Highgate, Birmingham. The shot went over the head of the boy's mother. His jacket absorbed most of the impact. It has since been reported that a young woman was also hit in the calf. Pot shots had been taken at a car which had left two dents. A man has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of wounding and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life (Birmingham Mail, 16 September 2010).

Police are investigating reports that a gun was fired in the St Ann's area of Nottingham. No one is believed to have been injured. A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder (BBC, 1 September 2010). A 15-year-old boy and a man have also been arrested (BBC, 18 November 2010).

Police are hunting for a man wanted in connection with firearms offences. A search of a house in Belle Vale, Liverpool, had revealed gun parts and quantities of crack cocaine. A man has pleaded guilty to possessing a Section 1 firearm, a sawn-off shotgun broken into pieces (see January 2011 Incidents).
