A shopkeeper in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, was shot with a BB gun. She was setting up her shop when she was hit in the arm which is now badly bruised.  The gun was fired from the window of a nearby flat.  Shop windows and vehicles were also targeted.

Peter Ogborn, a stand in warden at a mobile home site in Holbury, Hampshire, pointed a pistol at a visitor because he was fed up with the noise his car was making.  The gun was a ball bearing gun he claimed he used for shooting rats.  Ogborn, who was drunk at the time of the incident, admitted possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.  He was ordered to carry out 40 hours unpaid work.

Armed police fled to a supermarket in Wadebridge, Cornwall, after reports of gunshots.  A security guard overheard three rounds.  Police found nothing at the scene and have speculated that the weapon could have been an air rifle.

Robert Gregg from Galashiels has pleaded guilty to being in possession of a .177 air pistol and ammunition when he was not allowed to do so having recently served a prison sentence.

Donatien Chamchawala, described as a dangerous loner with a "real dislike" for sections of the community and with an obsession with explosives, has been detained indefinitely under the Mental Health Act.  Counter terrorism police discovered found two swords, a sawn-off shotgun, a revolver, a machete and a bullet-proof vest at his home in Blackwood, Caerphilly and described his kitchen as being "akin to a bomb-making factory" (see also February 2010 Incidents).

A man and woman have been arrested after a handgun and ammunition were found at a property in Tranmere, Merseyside.  They were held on suspicion of money laundering, possessing a firearm and ammunition, and drugs offences.

A man held up a betting shop in Uddingston, North Lanarkshire.  He threatened two members of staff with what appeared to be a firearm and fled with a four-figure sum of cash.

Two men threatened a man and his teenage granddaughter with a gun during an attempted robbery at a property in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.  The two men burst into the house in what is believed to have been a targeted attack.  Neither of the victims was hurt and the suspects fled the scene empty-handed.

Two security guards were robbed of thousands of pounds they were delivering to a service station in South Ockendon, Essex.  A man with a handgun approached them, took the cash and climbed over a fence.

A nesting moorhen was shot dead at a wildlife haven at Earlswood Lakes, Surrey.  The bird had been shot twice with an airgun.  A £500 reward has been offered.
